The Examination Rant
Hola people!
We are back with our blogs. Took a looooong break there-
Well, we had our exams, which are now thankfully over, but we of course had to make a blog about this too. I am pretty sure you all will be able to relate to this and laugh along the way.
On that note, how many of you all have VIVAS, (the oral exams where an external comes up and ask you like 3 questions based on which you get graded)?
For those of you who do, I have 2 things to say to you, 1. I sooo get the misery 2. You are gonna like this one. Don’t stop reading.
Vivas are like the worst kind of examinations in my opinion, i would rather give 2 extra written tests. I find myself forgetting the answers to questions i already know
And when it comes to viva, it is all about LUCK and the MOOD of the external. God forbid you get an external who let’s say, is not a morning person or just had a fight or something upsetting happened, or they’re not just not in a peachy mood. I say, stop stressing because you’re doomed anyways, why go through all the tension and stress?:), or I mean you coulddd RUN- if only that were an option. It’s not guys, you need the grades for the file/project you made. That’s the only thing that can save your grade.
Let’s get into how our professors can be so hypocritical, especially during our examinations. We, the students studying Psychology are told by our professors-
“Koi natak ni krega external ke saamne anxiety dikhake and koi bhi roega ni waha aake. That will only get your grades down”
Another professor said, “koi nhi, pressure handle ni hota to 2-3 khidki se kood jaenge. Humare batch ki strength kam ho jaegi thodri”
And the SAME professors during our orientation said something like, “we understand your mental health issues, if you feel anything that needs to be discussed feel free to come to us”
You would think that MAYBE, a psychology professor who quite literally teaches us about mental health and are our source of knowledge- would be just a tad bit more understandable, but sometimes we find them lacking the most basic human decency that can be shown to us as students or human beings for that matter.
Well on that serious note, let’s end this one here!
Let us know your examination experiences
See you in the next rant!
